Rules of Fun & Funky Tags!
Setup and Play a Game
1 A player is chosen to be the "Tag Captain", dispensing tags and monitoring transitions of tags.
2. All players should ‘self-police’, observe, and agree, as tags are awarded.
3. Select CTP Hole- we recommend ‘shortest’ on back 9.
4.Select Brain Fart Tag ‘putt distance’ (15’ or Circle 1)
5. Select Big Bogey Bubba Tag ‘overage #’ (+1 or +2).
6. Select any Alternative Rules, as agreed by the group.
7. PLAY & SCORE YOUR REGULAR ROUND, AS NORMAL.
8. Players should maintain proper playing order, to ensure the tags are awarded properly. Tag Captain should note the Tag “Hazards” +/or “Opportunities” for each hole as the round proceeds (i.e.; "OB on the left, near the basket", or "creek in middle of this fairway", etc.).
9. Distances may need to be measured, to award certain tags. Pace off the distance- a long stride is about 3’ and the length of an average person’s foot is about 1’. Have multiple players pace it off, when it’s ‘close’.
10. Longest putt will always be awarded at the 1st hole (and then only for a ‘longer putt’ each hole, thereafter).
11. Whenever a player’s ‘shot result’ matches one of the Penalty or Bonus Tags, that tag is awarded to that player (typically after completion of each hole). Tags could pass from player to player to player during a single hole - only the player with the most recent ‘tag shot result’ can possess the tag (i.e.: Tom, teeing first - hits a tree within 40’, Dave throws next and hits a close tree, Jay throws next and hits a close tree – Jay ends up with the tag). Multiple tags could go to a single player on one hole.
12. Please play in proper order, to ensure tags are awarded
properly.
13.B.O.B. Tag is determined and awarded after the front nine is completed (and then finalized at end of round).
Winning the game
1. Penalty tags have a value of +1.
2. Bonus tags have a -1 value.
3. Each player adds up their tags.
4. Player with LOW “Tags Score” is the Winner. Player with the
highest “Tags Score” is the B.O.B. (Loser).
